About familiar objects

I started throwing on the wheel, in part, to give myself some space from my art practice while still utilizing my hands.

When I started making functional forms, I gravitated toward objects that were footnotes in my daily life—things like mugs, tea bowls, and incense holders. At the time, the idea of slowly populating my apartment with things that enhanced the small pauses throughout my day made the very frustrating process of learning to throw on the wheel a little easier to push through.

I wanted to make things I would actually use; pieces that could be seamlessly incorporated into my routines and rituals.

familiar objects is the home to these functional forms.

All of the objects here sit close to my heart and aesthetic vision. I hope they make space for you to enjoy the small moments—unwinding with a cup of tea, starting the day with coffee, whisking matcha, burning incense, or putting one in the air, whichever you prefer.

More than anything, I hope these objects can bring a little more attention to the quiet moments and small rituals that populate your life.

Thank you for your support. It means everything.
